Riga has climbed to 4th place in the European TOP 5 Christmas Markets list, according to the latest European Best Destinations ranking!

This marks a significant rise of two positions compared to last year, thanks to the more than 753,000 travelers from 152 countries who experienced Riga's enchanting festive atmosphere.

Adding to the holiday cheer, both Condé Nast Traveler and Forbes have declared Riga the best destination in Europe for Christmas lights in their special feature, "Best Christmas Markets All Stars."

The inaugural MICHELIN Guide Latvia 2024 was launched today. It features 26 restaurants spread across the country – 19 situated within Riga and 7 located outside of the capital – and includes one restaurant honoured with One MICHELIN Star, three restaurants awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, and one restaurant highlighted with a MICHELIN Green Star for sustainability.
